The transition from childhood to adolescents is marked by incredible growth and changes in social-emotional capacity and needs. The Shaker Heights Youth Center’s master’s level social work and counselor staff lend support to students in 6th-8th grade at Shaker Heights Middle School. They work closely with the school team to provide positive services to students who are experiencing difficulties.
Our staff evaluates and supports students who are experiencing challenges that are affecting their lives. A variety of supports may be used to connect with the students including individual engagement, small group discussions, collaboration with teachers and administrators, and connecting families to community resources.
